Computer Graphics project.. Released!

Hello world, this is my project for the computer graphics exham I just attended! It’s a simple videogame modelled like a first person shooter where you can’t shoot but must reach the jellow flag before the red balls – likewise said the enemies – reach you!

Here are the tech specs:

• Language: c++
• Libraries: OpenGL & GLUT
• Memory footprint: 54MB on a 64bit machine, at least 32MB of video ram required.

If you are on a linux (Ubuntu I suppose) machine you must in order:

1. install the build tools: apt-get install build-essential cmake freeglut3-dev bzr
2. download the sources: bzr co lp:~alessandro-bruni/+junk/infografica
3. build the sources: cd infografica/build && cmake .. && make
4. run the project and enjoy the game: ./infografica

Finalmente ho avuto modo di provare la release definitiva di questo gioiellino dell’opensource, assieme a quest’altro gioiellino che ho installato questa domenica, e devo ammettere che l’accoppiata spacca di brutto!

..ma manca qualcosina..

Che fine ha fatto il network manager? ho capito che su kde-playground c’è una bozza di ultraplasmoide mega-accessoriato per la gestione delle reti, ma sarebbe bello che ci fosse anche un miniport alle qt4/kde4 del vecchio knetworkmanager di suse che tanto andava bene!

A seguito di conflitto di nomi col tool dvdbackup il mio programma per backup di dati su più DVD si chiamerà DVDivide ed è pubblicato su launchpad!

Ecco a voi il primo screenshot di DVDBackup, la mia prima app kde4 funzionante.

Serve ad eseguire semplicemente backup su supporti rimovibili multipli, come dvd o cd, dividendo in automatico i file su più supporti.

E’ anche in grado di masterizzare i file una volta eseguito il backup.

Working with Qt, the Gtk Style

Sono anni che si parla, in ambiente opensource, di uniformare l’aspetto ed il comportamento delle applicazioni tra i due toolkit che la fanno da padrone, qt e gtk. I problemi sembravano essere risolti con l’avvento di Gtk Qt Engine, che è molto carino per uniformare un ambiente kde, ma inadatto ad un desktop gnome-centrico.
